Well I've finally finished recording 'blossom' and it feels very satisfying! For the last few years I've been out to South East Asia (Vietnam, Thailand, Laos) and have been really effected and touched by the people I've met there. Whilst in Vietnam, we made a connection with an elderly vietnamese lady who runs a performing arts school for orphaned children with physical disabilities. She does a remarkable work, loving them, teaching them music and where possible providing instruments for them to play.
I held off making this CD for a long time and for a number of reasons: I've been really challenged and changed by the poverty I've seen and with such images etched on my heart I felt the money I would spend recording could be put to greater use elsewhere.
So with that in mind, I want to use the profits from the sale of this album to set up a 'music fund' with an organisation called 'Ethnos Asia' to provide some instruments for the children at the school in Vietnam. I also want some of the money to go to supporting the underground church in vietnam, again through the work of ethnos asia.
So thank you for buying 'Blossom' and for helping some wonderful people in South East Asia.

Just back from another trip out to Vietnam...and this time I didn't get sick woooo!! I took a load of tin whistles out as gifts to the kids at the performing arts school....although after being subjected to excited blasts and squeaks for a several hours, I'm not sure anyone was very happy with me!!
Had an amazing time, this time mainly doing some teaching stuff with women out there who are incredibly courageous and inspiring. The vietnamese are feisty and full of energy and life and faith. Saw and heard some incredible stories from these women and I'm already dreaming of returning.
